Yoga Seishin is an independent site about short, practical yoga for everyday life. We write routines you can actually fit into a normal day: ten minutes before work, a few stretches between meetings, a slow wind-down before bed.

Why “seishin”

Seishin (精神) is a Japanese word for mind or spirit. We chose it because the most useful thing a short practice gives most people isn’t a perfect pose. It’s a calmer, clearer mind to carry into the rest of the day.

What you’ll find here

  • Routines for different moments of the day, each with timing, clear cues and an easier option for every pose
  • Gentle sequences for common complaints, such as stiffness from sitting, with honest notes on when to see a professional instead
  • Guides for beginners, from setting up at home to choosing classes and retreats

How we write

  • Short and doable. Most routines take 15 minutes or less.
  • Gentle first. Every pose has an easier option, and we never treat pain as progress.
  • Clear about limits. We’re not doctors or physical therapists. Our routines are for general wellbeing, not for treating injuries or medical conditions, and we say so where it matters. See our health disclaimer.
  • Kept up to date. When we learn something that makes a guide clearer or safer, we update it.

How we keep the site running

Yoga Seishin is free to read. In some articles we recommend online classes, courses or retreats, and some of those links may be affiliate links: if you sign up or book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend. Read more in our affiliate disclosure.
